About Chuckles Chickens
At Chuckles Chickens, we believe keeping chickens should feel rewarding, not overwhelming.
Chicken owners are often faced with the same problem: when something goes wrong, it can be surprisingly difficult to know what to keep on hand, what to use first, what is normal, and when a problem needs more help.
Chuckles Chickens has grown into a poultry-care and education brand designed to make that easier.
Our focus is simple: practical products, useful knowledge and better preparation for everyday chicken keeping.
Whether you keep a few much-loved backyard hens or manage a larger breeding flock, our goal is to help you feel more prepared and confident caring for your birds throughout every stage of their lives.
Created by Chicken Keepers, for Chicken Keepers
Chuckles Chickens comes from years of hands-on experience keeping and breeding poultry.
We understand that chickens don't always become sick or injured at convenient times. A wound can appear after an afternoon in the yard. A hen can suddenly look unwell. Parasites can seemingly arrive overnight. A chick can need extra support when the shops are closed.
And when that happens, searching through cupboards for supplies—or trying to work out what you should have bought beforehand—is the last thing you want to be doing.
That experience became the foundation of our Poultry Health & First Aid range.
Instead of simply putting together boxes of products, we've focused on creating organised poultry-care systems containing supplies that chicken keepers can genuinely use.
Poultry Health Kits Designed for Real Flocks
Our Poultry Health Kits have been developed around the situations chicken keepers commonly encounter.
Depending on the kit, you'll find carefully selected supplies for:
Wound cleaning and first aid
Gauze, dressings and bandaging
Bleeding management
Support during illness, stress and recovery
Vitamins, minerals and nutritional support
External parasite management
Chick and young-bird care
Measuring and treatment equipment
Everyday flock health and monitoring
Our range extends from targeted Wound Care, Bandaging, Treatment, Recovery, Parasite and Chick Care packsthrough to comprehensive poultry health kits for backyard keepers, breeders and larger flocks.
We have also designed our smaller packs to make it easier to replace the products you actually use, rather than having to purchase an entirely new kit.
More Than a Box of Supplies
Having the right supplies is only useful if you understand what they're for.
That's why education has become such an important part of Chuckles Chickens.
Every kit and care pack includes a dedicated Quick Reference Guide, providing straightforward information that can be kept alongside your supplies.
Our larger Poultry Health Kits also include the Chuckles Chickens Poultry Health, First Aid & Keeping Manual.
The manual goes beyond first aid and covers topics including:
Recognising a healthy chicken • everyday health checks • common poultry problems • wounds and bleeding • bandaging • parasites • respiratory signs • digestive and crop concerns • laying and reproductive health • chick care • recovery support • biosecurity • housing • nutrition • flock management • preventative care • veterinary warning signs
We want our customers to receive more than products.
We want them to receive knowledge they can continue using long after they open the box.
Prevention Is Just as Important as Treatment
Good chicken keeping isn't only about responding when something goes wrong.
Much of poultry health begins with the everyday things: nutrition, clean water, appropriate housing, ventilation, parasite management, biosecurity, body condition and simply knowing your birds well enough to notice when something changes.
A chicken quietly separating from the flock, eating less than usual or standing differently may tell you something long before there is an obvious problem.
That's why our approach focuses on the whole chicken and the whole flock—not simply individual illnesses.
We want to help chicken keepers recognise what healthy looks like, identify changes earlier and build good husbandry practices that support their birds throughout their lives.
From the Brooder to the Breeding Pen—and Into Retirement
Chicken care changes throughout a bird's life.
A newly hatched chick has very different requirements from a growing pullet. A laying hen has different nutritional demands again. Breeding birds need careful attention to condition and reproductive health, while older chickens may benefit from closer monitoring and adjustments to their environment and management.
Our philosophy is to support poultry through every life stage.
That means considering not only laying performance, but also:
gut health • respiratory health • feather and skin condition • feet and legs • body condition • reproductive health • fertility • recovery from stress • moulting • seasonal changes • healthy ageing • chick development
Because a chicken's value shouldn't be measured by how many eggs she lays.
Our Approach
We aren't interested in making chicken keeping unnecessarily complicated.
We believe in being prepared, observing your flock, getting the fundamentals right and knowing when to ask for help.
Our health kits and educational resources are designed to support responsible poultry keeping—not replace veterinary medicine.
We encourage owners to follow product directions carefully and seek veterinary assistance when a bird has a serious injury, significant illness, unexplained deterioration or a condition that cannot safely be managed at home.
Sometimes good poultry keeping means knowing what you can manage yourself.
Just as importantly, it means knowing when you shouldn't.
The Chuckles Chickens Philosophy
Prepare before you need it.
Keep useful poultry first-aid and supportive-care supplies together and accessible.
Know your flock.
A keeper who understands their chickens' normal behaviour is far more likely to recognise when something changes.
Focus on prevention.
Nutrition, housing, hygiene, parasite management and good husbandry form the foundation of poultry health.
Keep learning.
There is always more to understand about the birds we keep.
Put the chicken first.
Every product, resource and recommendation should ultimately serve one purpose: helping us provide our birds with better care.
Welcome to Chuckles Chickens
What began with a love of breeding and keeping chickens has grown into something much broader.
Today, Chuckles Chickens is about helping other poultry keepers care for their flocks—through thoughtfully assembled health and first-aid kits, practical educational resources and the knowledge we've gained through years of hands-on chicken keeping.
We're continuing to develop products and resources around the real problems poultry owners encounter, from bringing home your first chickens to caring for established flocks, breeders, chicks and ageing birds.
Because happier, healthier chickens start with prepared and informed keepers.
Welcome to Chuckles Chickens.
Practical poultry care. Useful knowledge. Healthier flocks.
